Reservations and the Daber AI Phone Agent
Fudie includes a reservation book for your restaurant. Guests can book from your Fudie menu page, your staff can book from the dashboard, and an AI phone agent by Daber AI can answer your phone 24/7 and book tables while the guest is on the line. Every booking lands in the same live calendar and follows the same rules.
Reservations and online booking are included in every paid Fudie plan. The phone agent runs on a Daber AI plan.
Set Up Your Reservation Book
Open Reservations in the Fudie app and go to Hours & rules:
- Restaurant: set your name, timezone, phone, and address, plus any policies the agent should tell callers (for example, "Tables are held for 15 minutes").
- Opening hours: add one or more services per day, like lunch and dinner. A closing time earlier than the opening time means you close after midnight.
- Seating: choose Simple capacity (one limit for guests at once) or Table plan (list your tables with their seats and area).
- Table times: set how long each party size keeps its table.
- Booking rules: booking interval, maximum party size, last seating, minimum notice, and how far ahead guests can book.
- Closed dates: add holidays and private events.
How Fudie Decides What Is Available
A time is offered only when every rule passes:
| Rule | What it does |
|---|---|
| Opening hours and last seating | No bookings outside your services or too close to closing |
| Guests in the house | Caps how many guests are seated at the same time |
| Table plan | Gives each party the best-fitting free table, or joins two tables in the same area for bigger groups |
| Table times and cleanup | Bigger groups hold the table longer, with cleanup time before the next seating |
| Kitchen pacing | Limits guests and parties arriving in the same slot |
| Walk-in hold-back | Keeps a share of capacity that the phone agent and your menu page can't book |
| One booking per guest per day | Guests who already booked that day are asked to change their booking instead |
Your staff can always book from the dashboard, including inside the walk-in hold-back, and can override capacity when needed.
Take Bookings on Your Menu Page
Turn on Take bookings on my menu page in Hours & rules. Your published Fudie menu page then shows a Reserve a table button. Guests pick a party size, date, and time, enter their name and phone, and get a confirmation code on the spot.
Connect the Daber AI Phone Agent
Daber AI agents answer phone calls 24/7 in your guests' language. Fudie works as an MCP server, so a Daber AI agent can check your availability, book, change, and cancel reservations, and answer menu questions from your Fudie menu.
- In Fudie, open Reservations → Phone agent and click Create connection key. Copy the key right away; it is shown only once.
- In Daber AI, add an MCP server with the Server URL shown in Fudie, transport Streamable HTTP, and header authentication with the header name X-API-Key and your connection key as the value.
- Enable the Fudie tools for the agent that answers your restaurant line.
- Paste the suggested instructions from Fudie into the agent's prompt.
- Turn on Phone booking in Fudie and place a test call. The booking appears in Bookings within seconds.
To disconnect the agent, revoke its key in Reservations → Phone agent.
Managing Bookings
The Bookings tab shows each day's reservations with the time, guest, party size, table, and where the booking came from (phone agent, website, or dashboard). Mark guests as Seated, Completed, or No-show, cancel bookings, or add one with New reservation. Bookings from the phone agent and your menu page appear automatically.
